Agere sequitur credere.                                                                                                                                          Action follows belief.
Dear theater artist,

A salvo, as you may know, is a sudden, vigorous act in a battle, but in Latin it also means I heal.  To me, the idea of an action that is simultaneously vigorous and healing captures what theater does best.

To live life as an artist isn't something we determine one day, considering the matter settled.  It's a choice we make and re-make constantly.  It's a practice. The challenge for theater artists is that we can't do it alone. It's hard to improve (or stay sharp) by ourselves, but classes are expensive and production opportunities rare.  Practice, for a theater artist, is as essential as sunlight and shelter.

My mission with Salvo is to offer an affordable outpost for theater artists of all levels to:
  • Acquire technique and discipline
  • Keep creatively limber and productive
  • Awaken dormant gifts
  • Energize, and be energized by, other artists
Classes are small and take place in my home studio.  If you'd like more information, please contact me via the form below.

Sincerely yours,

Rebecca Tourino Collinsworth, founder

"This remarkable woman led us through the most vigorous, thoughtful, safe and yet demanding class I could have imagined.  And fun.  If it’s scary and fun, something’s going on.  Rebecca set the stage for open and daring work and gave me the most solid and useful tools for critiquing that I have ever had laid out before."
